Jefferson Barracks is the "original" quarry location where the first rocks were produced and sold in 1882. The site began making crushed stone for the Corps of Engineers river levee program and is still providing an important natural resource to our commuity after all these years.

"JB" is located on the Mississippi river in south St. Louis County, just 1/4 mile south of the Jefferson Barracks Bridge. Easy truck access is available off I-255 and Koch road. In addition to our mining operation, JB is also home to other Bussen ventures including Bussen Terminal and Bussen Underground Warehouse.

Jefferson Barracks Quarry has an excellent deposit of Saint Louis and Salem limestone formations. We produce state approved material for USACE, MODOT, IDOT, and MSD as well as asphalt, concrete, and modular block plants. Taking advantage of our location on the Mississippi River, we are also a large supplier of Mississippi River Sand, Low Lignite River Sand, and Fine River Sand that is ASTM C-33 certified.
